NANTUCKET ISLAND RUN FOR RECOVERY - a fundraiser for Addiction Solutions of Nantucket!
Welcome to the 2021 VIRTUAL 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk for Recovery! Due to the on-going challenges with COVID-19, Nantucket Rising and Bartlett’s Farm will be hosting VIRTUAL RUNNING AND WALKING EVENTS again this year for the Nantucket Island 5K Run for Recovery and 2 Mile Walk for Recovery. The event will take place over 72 hours: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 17th, 18th, & 19th, 2021.
A Virtual run/walk means that participants can run or walk the 5K or 2 mile distances on their own, at any time, over the course of the weekend of September 17th, 18th, & 19th, 2021. Once the runner has completed the event, s/he can send in their times via a running app before midnight on Sunday, September 19th, 2021. Walkers will not be timed, so no need to send in walking times, just relax and enjoy the exercise and outdoors for a great cause!

All proceeds from this event will go toward supporting counseling for those who are struggling with Substance Use Disorders. The purpose of the Nantucket Island Run for Recovery is to: 1) Raise awareness about prevention and treatment options for islanders 2) Decrease stigma and increase understanding 3) Raise funds to support Addiction Solutions of Nantucket 4) Offer hope and celebrate recovery!
For those who wish to run the original 5K course (or walk it) out by Bartlett’s Farm, the 5K running course will be marked on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 17th - 19th, 2021.
T-shirts will be distributed after the run or walk, details to follow…
